Happy Halloween

Three Blind Mice

Halloween was on a Saturday this year and it enabled me to be there through the whole "dress up" process. Usually JJ is in charge of getting the girls ready due to my job at the Treasurer's Office where Oct 31st is the tax deadline.

We first went to Grandma June's house and visited with her for a bit. We then went to Susie Ramaker's house and she always outdoes herself. Gift bags with handmade labels and stamps were there for the girls. I later asked them what their favorite part of the day was and it was "Zazoo's house"!

We then made our way up to Beth and Dustin's house. She got her two girls ready and we were off. I felt like I was climbing Mt. Everest and the girls kept complaining, "My legs hurt... can we slow down?" Beth (the Nazi UPS driver) just trucked along!! They made a haul and on our way back, Beth and I slowed way down and let them enter the cultasac. Not knowing, Dustin, JJ and Griffin were hiding in the front lawn. They got to the door, out jumped the boys and four little girls screamed their heads off!! Great weather and great company... all in all, it was a great evening!

Go Fish!

The girls' new favorite game is "Go Fish", and while I was making dinner last night, it got pretty interesting...

Every night is a different theme and last night was animals. So every time they said, "Go Fish", it would be "Go Dog" or "Go Elephant". I was impressed... they were coming up with some good ones!

My personal favorite had to be "Go Amphibian", which Paige (the lawyer in our family), argued was NOT an animal because, "I've never heard that before, Kylar!!!"

Kids... they're hilarious!

Typewriter Mayhem

JJ's mother, Mary, is so patient with the girls. Last night JJ took them out to see "Grandma Mary" and have dinner while I was away. While most of us would tell three little girls to "no, you can't play with my typewriter", she actually encourages it to practice writing sentences and form words. Jacey has brought home entire stories and Mary says, "It keeps them occupied for hours!"

This is JJ's story:

I was sitting in the living room with my parents and we heard this contageous giggle and full-blown laughter coming from the office. All three of them were laughing their heads off! JJ goes in there to investigate and he finds them reading their masterpeices. Jacey wrote a letter to Kylar that says:

"Dear Kylar, you smell like underwear"

And they thought that was so funny!!!! This one is sure to go into the "keep box".

Blogger Beginnings

My Grandmother has kept a diary since she was in her teenage years. Everyone in the family jokes around about her constant reference to what happened on July 2, 1962, but it's a great peice of literature to have. I've always been kind of envious of these memories that she's captured over the years.

A busy Mom with two jobs and three children has little time to sit down and update the scrapbook with things from their childhood. Newspaper clippings and special awards get thrown in the "keep" box in hopes that someday before they turn 18 you'll put it together so they can see what they've acheived.

My friend Jessica introduced me to this thing called a "blog". What is a blog anyways? I'll tell you... it's a great way to document those special times with your family and have a written document you can reference later without feeling the "guilt" of shoving the papers in the "keep box". I'd like to invite you to subscribe to this blog and keep up on our family and the adventures we've encountered along the way. This should be fun!
